Alarm systems are an essential part of any home. No matter how careful you are, accidents happen. These systems can be installed for as little as $200 and can provide peace of mind knowing that your loved ones will be alerted to the sound of an intruder or fire alarm. They also work great for home security, alerting you via text or email that someone has broken into your house.

However, alarm systems are commonly overlooked when it comes to home protection. Many people feel that these systems aren’t necessary for their household because they live in a safe neighborhood. Others don’t want the hassle of administering a complicated system. It is easy to disregard the importance of security systems, but one statistic should change your mind: every 14 seconds, someone in America becomes a victim of burglary or home invasion.

Alarm system statistics
In 2013, there were more than 2.5 million burglaries in the United States. There are an estimated 8.9 million households that want a home security system, but they don’t have one. It is also true that most of our alarm systems are hardwired, making them more susceptible to being damaged by burglars who want to avoid the hassle of dealing with a lot of wires.

One common occurrence is when someone drills through the front door and then turns off the power source to disable the alarm.

However, there is one way to protect your home from high-tech burglars. They have a device that can go around the house and bypass the alarm. So what do we do? We need to begin using wireless alarms!

Wireless alarms are much easier for burglars to bypass because they don’t have to deal with a lot of wires. This type of alarm is easier to maintain because they are not reliant on batteries. Most importantly, they can be modified right in your home.

How Wireless Alarms Work
One of the biggest issues with wired alarms is that they are often hardwired and connected to an open power source. This makes them easy to tamper with, as burglars can just cut the wires or disable the power source. Wireless alarms don’t have this problem because they are not reliant on power sources. They run off of standard batteries that can be replaced as needed.

These types of systems work simply by placing a sensor on each door and window in your home. When the alarm is activated, the sensor activates an alarm signal to a central control panel. Examples of these types of sensors are called motion sensors. When the sensor detects movement, it transmits this information digitally, which can then trigger other devices in your home to respond.

The wireless system is more flexible and customizable than a wired setup. But regardless wired or not you should have some sort of alarm system for your safety and the safety of your family.
