How long have you been in the Security / Surveillance business?
We have been in the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson area for over 10 years, but we have over 90 years’ experience in surveillance, security systems, fire systems, structured wiring, and home audio /video distribution.
How much does a video surveillance system cost?
It depends upon the following: Do you have attic space, or crawl space underneath the house or business? Do you want to see at night? What type of lighting do you have around your place of business or home? What types of cameras do you want, IP security cameras analog security cameras, mega-pixel security cameras? Do you have any license for fire?
Our lead technician is certified as NICET level 2 certified for fire. We also have our South Carolina Fire License as well as our South Carolina Burglar Alarm License. Furthermore, we have established relationships with other licensed services providers in other states to service our clients needs.
Do you have any other certifications?
We are Linux Red Hat certified, a CISCO Registered Partner, Axis Partner, and a Microsoft Gold Partner. We also have a network of partners throughout the entire nation for the installation of Fire Systems, Security Systems, Surveillance Systems, and structured wiring.
What is a Security DVR?
A Security DVR is a digital video recorder that records video from security cameras to an internal hard drive inside a computer. The Security DVR is networked to your internet connection in order to provide remote access to view your cameras.
What is a Security Camera?
A security camera is a camera placed at business or home for the purpose of identifying someone, some transaction or an event. You can view your cameras either at your home or place of business or you can view them via the internet from a remote location.
What is IP Security Camera?
IP cameras allow homeowners and businesses to view their camera(s) through any internet connection available through a computer or a 3G phone. There is no need for a Security DVR, but you will need a sufficient amount of bandwidth both at the camera and from the location you are viewing the camera(s).
What is a mega-pixel security camera?
A mega-pixel security camera has one million pixels inside the recorded video which allows you the customer to zoom in closer on recorded video and get a much clearer and defined picture.
What type of wire do you use?
When installing security cameras with a security DVR we use a cable called RG59 Siamese, this has both the video feed and the power for the camera. When installing IP security cameras we use CAT5 or CAT6 depending upon the length of the wire runs.
Can I view the video from my iPhone, Blackberry or Windows Mobile Phone?
Yes, you can it will depend upon the type of equipment that you install as to which mobile device you can use. Some use one or more mobile devices and some can use all three.
What type of Security DVR’s are you familiar with?
We are familiar with the following types of DVR’s; SAINT DVR, GeoVision, Kalatel, Axis Servers, Blackbird DVR, Pelco, Bosch, AVS DVR, and ExacqVision DVR’s.
Do I have to have a static IP address to access my security cameras remotely?
The answer is No. You can have a dynamic IP address and still access your cameras remotely but having a static IP address allows you to have higher bandwidth which allows most security cameras and DVR’s to respond better over the internet.
How long does it take to do a typical install of a surveillance system?
Usually it takes one complete day to do a normal install sometimes as much as 2 days; this will depend upon the level of difficulty of the install and how far the wire runs are if we are doing wired security cameras.
How long is the warranty on the surveillance equipment you install?
It will depend upon the manufacture of the security DVR and security cameras, but typically one to three years on surveillance equipment. Our labor warranty is one year and hard drives that we use if we build your DVR for you is five years
What type of Alarm System do you install?
We install GE security systems and we use either wired or wireless components for your security systems.
What type of Fire Systems do you install?
We have standardized with Fire Lite fire systems; we use this system for all of our commercial clients.
Will I need a network person to setup remote access to my security cameras?
No, we can configure your network for you as well. We have trained and certified IT personal that can setup and configure the network for access to your security cameras. We also provide the running and installing of network wires and configuring your network.
When you install our network wires and phone wires do you test them?
Yes, we actually terminate all of your wires, install all of your face plates, and we test all cable connections, and then we test connectivity between each connection and generate a network cable testing report which is kept in your file.
Who will show me how to use the security / surveillance systems?
We will train you how to arm and disarm your alarm system; we will also show you how to access your surveillance system remotely and onsite.
Can you do mobile DVR’s?
